After the CEO, Nkuthalo David Tyutulo self-published his first novel in 2017, he decided to do some research in steps of producing a book. He then registered the company to assist unrecognised and upcoming authors.
The first book to be published by Nkuthalo Media is Siphilisiwe ngemivumbo yakhe by Mziyanda Siphiwo Vutula, second is Inkawu ityiwa ilila (Ibali likaSigqibo) by Avuyile Qhinga, then the rest is history. To date we have published more than 80 titles in different South African languages.
5 of our books has been prescribed to teach isiXhosa students at Walter Sisulu University, books such as:

- Thahameso - Dithothokiso by T.M Sekese-Tenene
- Intlungu Yevezandlebe by Yamkela Ntwalana
- Amajingiqhiw’ entlalo by Anelisa Thengimfene
- Iziphumo Zemfihlo by Siphokazi Patuleni and Nkuthalo David Tyutulo
Three of our produced titles has been read at a program called Ufundo Lweencwadi at a national radio, Umhlobo Wenene FM, those titles are Intlungu Yevezandlebe by Yamkela Ntwalana, Ichibi Lenkohliso by Xolisile Cawe, and Amazwembezwembe KaGxuluwe by Mzoli Mavimbela
We have published books for three other upcoming authors free of charge, to motivate them in writing their books in native language. Their books are titled, Yagqam’ lnkwenkwezi by Sinovuyo Mafilika from KwaNobuhle, Ukuzazi, Ukuzamkela Nokuzithemba by Mihlali Blackie from DuNoon in Cape Town, and Ndiyintyatyambo Uqobo by Somila Damoyi from Mfuleni in Cape Town.
Some books we have produced has won literature awards. Amazwembezwembe KaGxuluwe by Mzoli Mavimbela has won South African Literary Award - The K. Sello Duiker Memorial Award in 2022, Intlungu Yevezandlebe by Yamkela Ntwalana has won South African Literary Award - Novel Category in 2021. Ukuzazi, Ukuzamkela Nokuzithemba by Mihlali Blackie has won South African Literary Award - Youth Literature Award in 2023.
We are producing an award winning book show at Cape Town TV called Ezethu Iincwadi, where we profile authors around South Africa and give them a platform to showcase their work - to make more sales.
We are one of Van Schaik bookshop and Hargraves Library Service (Pty) Ltd distributors, we distribute book we produced and other authors books, even if they are not published under us.
